Remote central locking issue!!

Post by Pluto »

I recently decided to try and add remote locking to my BX19TGD Estate. The car already has central locking, so I thought that by following the 'idiots guide' by JayW in the FAQ section, I couldn't go far wrong. . . . . However, after completing what I thought was a very tidy installation the damn thing just won't work! :-x The remote unit I have looks to be identical to the one in the guide, the instructions and all wire colours are definitely the same. The only thing I noticed as being different is the central locking control box on the car. While it looks the same as the one in the guide, the connector only has one wire at terminal 5 and one at terminal 7 instead of two . Could this be the cause of the problem? Does it mean that the locking mechanism works differently on my car?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

There is also this guide, though not specifically on the remote. Good luck.
