What a great bunch Citroen people are

Post by lesg »

:D Just a quick message to say thanks to Chris Hardwick or Rutter for selling me those rear seat belts for the BX Gt, they were fitted by me today and work perfecly. Bit of a swine to get the support bolts started but with a lot of swearing and dare I say it, Brute force and ignorance they went in, must of saved a fortune on garage bills, once again the power of the forum worked. Many thanks, Les.

No probs Les, glad they got to you and fitted ok, tho the bolts were swines to get out i guess they may have been thread locked on production, they were very tight and needed a strong bar to shift them.

It's Cliff by the way not Chris.

Thanx to Tim Leech as well for the advice on fitments.

Hi there Cliff, sorry about getting your name wrong but really thanks again for helping me put my Gt rear seats into use as I don't like carrying folks in the back without belts and now I can so they can appreciate the difference between modern suspension and the magic carpet ride of a MK 1 BX. Cheers, Les.

She rides a lot better than the MK 2 GTi that I had a few years ago, lovely car in black and that was it, I was hooked on retro Citroens and now I have gone back to one, my daily drive being a MK 4 Golf GTi Good car but doesn't put a smile on my face like the BX

I had a mk1 golf gti in mars red many years ago, my second car, was on a W plate only a 1600gti with the 4 speed manual box, one of the first gti's to enter the UK i believe, it was to coin a phrase "f-quick" compared to my first car a Vauxhall Chevette 2dr saloon, sadly came to an end when it was shunted by a twat in a Sherpa van. Shocking how much mk1 golf's are fetching these days.
