TZD coolant issues

So I just started the BX up today and the coolant light stayed on along with the STOP light. I checked the reservoir tank and I could just see a little bit of coolant and the bottom.

I should say, the coolant was replaced a month ago, however it now looks a rusty colour. I topped it up a bit and the light has now gone out.

I'm a bit concerned this could be a sign of head gasket failure, what are your thoughts on this?

I can't see any sign of leaks. It's done 82k 1.7td.

I should get the cooling system " pressure " tested and take it from there.

Well I topped up the coolant and took her out to fully warm her up and she drove faultlessly!

When I got back I checked the reservoir and all seems ok, the only thing was the reservoir tank was stone cold but the radiator was warm, is that normal?

You could try taking the thermostat out. re bleeding the cooling system. To try to improve the coolant circulation.
Warm hoses every where when the engine is up to normal operating temp. is what you are looking for.
