Hello All.
My Mother has paid a lot of money for new brake discs and pads, It looks to me like the chap has done the pads but not the discs, the discs certainly don't look new but they also don't look bad enough to warrant an advisorary on the test, so I am wondering if he has replaced them with sh discs (but he has charged for new) Is there any way these could in fact be new... I don't want to accuse the chap of ripping her off if infact this is what they should look like! Any comments.... thanks

Re: brake discs (non bx sorry)
They look new to me - corrosion sets in very quickly (a matter of days).

Could be New old stock in which case a little surface rust is not uncommon, ive seen worse new ones, you could always ask for the old discs and pads back just for peace of mind. I would say they are new (ish) as the old worn ones would have a definative wear step on the inner and outer edge.

Look new to me too. Lots of variables here though, if she hasn't done many miles on them as Matt says, rust can appear very quickly, possible new old stock or even cheap imports.
They think it's all over, it is now!

Re: brake discs (non bx sorry)
If they are cheapo import jobbies they will most likely start to squeal soon, i got some for t/d off ebay for £12 delivered and they were shite, squealing after a few hundred miles even tho i fitted genuine bendix pads, only remedy was better quality discs.

They look new to me too but from those pictures I would say you still definitely have a brake issue. They look like the brakes are binding the way they have pitted the wear face so badly and the last picture even looks lipped already. There is no point in fitting new pads and discs if the callipers are seizing/binding or the hand brake cable is not releasing properly.

/\ I didn't look at them all - yes the wear lip so soon is a worry.
