Hi
I'm just putting a new clutch in a BX 19TRS and am not sure how much to torque up the six 13 mm bolts holding the pressure plate to the flywheel. The Haynes (sorry - its all I've got on the clutch...) lists 7.2 lbf foot for what it calls the "clutch cover bolts" Is this what it is referring to? The torque seemed a bit low.
Cheers

I go to 1.2 grunts. (or "feels about right") in old money.Kitch wrote:I do them up to a 'grunt'.
TBH, apart from critical internals and headbolts, I seldom bother with the torque hammer.
I have zero patience for your tedium.

How do you measure .2 of a "grunt"? My gruntometer only works in whole numbers not decimals. You'rs must be a more up to date measuring device.
I find my hoomphometer much better on the bigger nuts and bolts.

Thanks all - glad it's not critical. Did it up nice and tight and transmission is back in now.

You must have one of those cheap Chinese Gruntometers off eBay Cliff, i got a proper one from Poundland.rutter123 wrote:How do you measure .2 of a "grunt"? My gruntometer only works in whole numbers not decimals. You'rs must be a more up to date measuring device.

Have you tried a "f*cking bast@rd french sh!t"-ometer? It's a bread & butter tool for old Citroens, particularly BX's...

Like most tools from Poundland-they are made from bread and butter.
