BX Service Van

Post by djm666 »

I was wondering how many people on here have service vans?
I am collecting info on them as I have never seen one in the flesh and would be keen on making one.
So if you have pictures of the van specific parts that would be brilliant.

I think he is the bloke who got me a few pics of the specific internal parts of the van. The only trouble is my hard rive went down and I have lost them. I am now seriously thinking of making a service van and was wondering about a couple of things.

AFAIK its a estate car with the doors welded up and a false floor behind the front seats to level things up.

I have a van too – the lower half of the rear are the lower section of door skins but the upper pressing is unique. What would like pics of?

I have a couple of questions and would love pics of the upper and lower panels inside and out and of the strengthening inside where the inner part of he door would have been.
Is the upper panel metal or polycarbonate?
Does it do away with the rear air vent entirely?
And is there a plastic cover over the original top mouldings between the roof bars and the upper panel?

I am currently modifying a couple of old doors to see if I can make it work.

These doors where not the straightest so it's not a great loss of I don't do anything with them.

Also how thick is the upper panel that covers where the Windows would have been? Should be able to see how thick it is from the boot edge.
