Veco Clutch

Post by Tim Leech »

I've been given a veco clutch kit for the GT from a guy who used to stock Peugeot/citroen parts.

Never heard of them!

Anyone?

I used to sell Veco, they're sort of QH-quality. I'd use them for cables, but not sure about clutches. Probably wouldn't take the risk myself when other options are easily available, but then you can usually tell by looking at it whether it's a crap one or not.

Ok that's what I thought, the clutch is fine tbh but it was free.

I had a set of Veco drop links, one of which popped out after 1 month and 1000 miles. I wouldn't buy again!

That was to replace the Veco ones IIRC, and AEP (normally pretty good) phoned me up to ask whether I minded two different makes. I said not, but when they arrived they were visibly two different lengths!

I ended up getting a pair from my local unhelpful dealer "Oh no, they've long been discontinued, bye". Me: "Wait, can you check any other dealer's stock?" Turned out that he had one on the shelf himself which he'd not even bothered to check, and the other was in the next nearest dealer!

I've used the First Line droplinks, same length etc as the originals and so far have been fine. Widely available ie Euro if you ask!.
