Sinking times and rear lights

Post by BXcitro »

Just a couple of questions out of interest

Firstly, I've always noticed my BX sinks faster when it's parked facing up hill. I just wondered if there's any reason for this? It's not a problem as such, just curious why it should make any difference?

Also, on the mk2 post 1990 there are 2 types of rear light clusters, the white and red and the black and red. Which came first? Or could you choose when new? Mine are the white and red but ive seen earlier BX's with the darker ones.

IIRC there are more than 2 options, clear, green and smoke, at least.

The slightly faster sinking is probably just gravity.

AFAIK Defender has it - there are 3 rear light cluster types, Clear and Smoked being the most common and green tinged the least
but fitted to Valver, GTI, Athena maybe other model sub designations ie Meteor. Internal part the same AFAIK just different outer,

I quite like the smoked rear lights, seem to be the most common of all, can't say I've noticed the greener ones before.

Yes the sinking could just be gravity, I know all BXs sink at different rates. My old '93 Xantia (sinker) use to be completely beached after just an hour of parking up. Didn't make make any difference if it was up or down hill.
