Post by sleepy0905 »

I went to the chippy earlier and was followed at speed by a Lexus 200 with 3 scroats in at the chippy 2 jumped out and came over and said " Nice 16V mate we struggled to keep up with you there is a meet on tonight at south hykeham why dont you come along" I contained my laughter till they had gone I was in my poor little TZS Auto.

My route home last night is over a mountain pass - 1.5 miles of steep, serpentine road which relies totally on a fast run in, and three changes down to second. There is one safe passing place, where I overtook a Porsche of some sort REALLY STRUGGLING.
Later, stopping at another of Wales' summertime special roadworks he drew up behind me , got out and said - "That's a hell of a motorcar you've got there - what is it".
For the record, he was wearing RED Braces. A LOMBARD if ever I saw one.

It`s a long winding hill alright. Even trying to build up speed approaching it didn`t help much in the van and it was bloody lairy coming down the other side full tilt.
I think my next ports of call after that were Cemaes Road, Carno, Llanydloes, Newtown, Llanfair Caerinion and Welshpool so I didn`t hang about

My TXD used to fly up there leaving pretenders with red faces! Alas she sits forlorn off the road with a bad head! Any want to adopt her? :(
