Are there any Solex autochokes out there post replacement with a manual choke?
I am in need specifically of the securing nut in the centre of the pic below. I am told mine is cracked and unlikely to secure the cams going forwards. I am also told these are almost as rare as hens teeth.
Any suggestions on alternative ways to secure the cams in the event no nice nut can be conjured would be very much welcome.

The nut is just thinner than a standard nut to enable you to put a spanner on the two flats of the shaft to tighten the nut without damaging the levers. If you can't find a thin nut just grind down a standard nut to the right depth.

Retaining nut proved so tight it only just came off on the bench. But the receiving thread was damaged and apparently could not hold a nut securely. A nut is in fact in place, held by some glue, probably best viewed as a temporary measure. However, the spindle is now somewhat bent, and the ensemble of levers on it also has lateral play. Meaning the intended cam sits only half-on/half-off the fast idle screw. Otherwise the autochoke appears to work for now (I hope I didn't speak too soon).
I may be able to get better alignment of things with a spacer or two. A lockwire or cotter pin might work in lieu of the retaining nut, but I wonder whether it would be strong enough. As other things stand, I might just dose the nut with further glue, and await the next MoT.
