I can't answer your question but someone will be along shortly who can. Don't worry about asking any questions that may have been asked before, we are a small enough group that no question has ever become monotonous ;-)

I don't see why not. Think all XU6/7/9's sit on the same mounts.

Well yes, it will fit, but you will need to change the ECU and wiring, the radiator and hoses, maybe the exhaust front pipe and ideally the gearbox to get the 16v ratios to name just the first things that come to mind.

Find a BX 16valve as a donor, it's got all the bits including the engine.

Good luck with that, 16v's are very thin on the ground now and even junk ones will command strong money with most of them being snapped up for full resto.

The answer is yes, unless you drive the 16v hard you wont notice much performance different, it really sings when over 4000rpm, personally I found the 8v more flexible and refined, with the 16v geared for acceleration its quite noisy on motorways

you will need the 16v gearbox ideally too, otherwise it will fit but will need work on the wiring.

Another thing to note as it would be classed as "modified" so may cost more to insure.

if you want a 16v powered BX your best of to find a genuine 16v and restore that.
