You don't see these coming up very often, check lotto numbers.

My fascination with the BX comes from cheap, comfortable and reliable motoring so this wouldn't be on my wish list even if my lotto numbers did come up :) . I could however be swayed by one of these though :-)

I'd get both just for the hell of it. But first I need that win.
The SM is an astonishing looking car in a class of its own, and in that colour...

I agree the SM is just gorgeous so I'll get the 4 TC and the SM, it would be rude not to :D

I love the 4 TC just because it's so mad, what was the rally history? I think it was one finish out of six rallies entered before Group B was banned. Born too late is the phrase that springs to mind

I think the 4TC had regular coil spring suspension so I would imagine the ride to be very un-bx-like, more of a hybrid than a bx and they didnt utilise the XU engine Wasn't it powered by Ford/Renault/GM or someone? don't know much of its wins or losses but I expect at the time it would have been competing with the likes of Lancia Delta intergrale's, Ford RS, Audi Quattro's of that era
Group B was banned cos too many drivers were killed or badly injured? Right?

Yes a beautiful car, but sadly slightly aesthetically challenged by being an American spec SM. Some of the advert's copy is verging on the prose used by the many estate agents I'm dealing with at the moment. "May I ask that only the most discerning collector contact me about this car?" I'll remember that if I ever sell the BX!

I have happy memories of my father's SM. And should one ever find yourself in a 2cv/Dyane behind a rear-engined Bristol VR bus the combined sound of the two engines sounds like a Maserati V6.

No the final version had hydo-pneumatic suspension and a turbo charged Simca engine, a development of the one used in the Chrysler 180  I had a 180 and the engine wasn't it's strong point.
Suspension failure was the main reason for them retiring during rallies, they did manage a 6th place on one occasion :D
