BX Spares Opportunity - Pics on P2

Post by vulgalour »

I've been invited to have a rummage through some storage that has BX spares that need clearing out. I don't know exactly what is available nor what the prices are (unlikely to be stupid), but I am happy to be an intermediary and help with postage etc. if there's something in particular you're after.

I do know there's probably two front driver's doors, a GTi interior (don't know colour), various mechanical components including pumps, doseur valves, front struts, rear arms, a tailgate, and probably some random odds and sods. I only stopped by to see if they had an exhaust rubber and came away with that and a mudflap, as you do, for what change was in my pocket.

It's likely going to be Mk2 stuff in the main, given the era that they were breaking cars, but they may well have some Mk1 bits and bobs. I'll be heading over next Thursday/Friday, or the Thursday/Friday after, depending on schedules. Please do leave a comment with anything you need for your BX and I'll take the list of whatever is put here along with me and find out prices etc. for you.

Edited to add the shopping list below for quick reference:

Petergar - nice front seatbelt buckles - non available
Meter rat - rear mudflaps - non available
greendale65 - front seatbelts. Interior boot panel doors, an accessory. - non available
womble3go - estate tailgate strut. Front and rear bumper trims - non available (except for the 16v bumpers, but you'd need to buy the bumpers to get the trims)
rutter123 - ven red drivers door. Front bumper with splitter, or just splitter on its own. Ven red fuel flap. - Drivers door available! Only bumper there is a 16v one, fuel flap in white was present.
Jaba - front left caliper air deflector/scoop - couldn't find this at all.
Thickasmud - front strut with top mounts. Rear strut with boot. - Struts, but no top mounts, and there's a tailgate but we couldn't get to the strut to see if it had one.

womble3go: for the rear bumper, are you after the estate trims or hatch trims?

rutter123: I was told there is probably a red driver's door, hopefully it's ven(etian?) red.

That would be ideal as mine has a rasty crease in it on the swage line and has at some point been resprayed before my ownership and now a completely different colour to the rest of the car, more of a very ripe tomato red now, the offside front wing has also changed colour but I can live with that
Also a ven red fuel cap if poss
Thanks

greendale65: do you have a picture of the part? I can't picture what you mean from the description.

I think Mr Green Dale means the plastic boot liners that cover the wheel arches with the apertures in for the jack and brace.

I think that greendale 65 means the accessory covers that were available to cover the openings in the sides of the boot. They clip over the bottom edge of the plastic boot sides and hinge downwards. You hinge them up and lock them by a turnbuckle to close the rectangular hole. I have a pair fitted on my car but I can't manage to attach a photo.

Vulgalour, I would be interested in the price for the front struts with top mounts and a rear strut complete with boot. Thanks.

List updated with all of the above. I won't commit to purchasing anything until I have actual prices and postage will vary, especially on larger heavier stuff, so please bear that in mind when I get to the point that I've gone over and taken pictures of everything.

I've never heard of those boot bin covers before, but they do sound like a nice thing to have and now I want some! Caliper scoops should be available, I suspect, though I won't know for certain until I look. The struts I'm pretty sure he does have available, he mentioned there was quite a few suspension bits including struts and arms, though I think it was all lightly used rather than new or NOS.

I am going to try and get a look and photographs at the end of this week, and then hopefully the end of next week I can collect things for folks that have paid *if* there's things that are wanted and they're at sensible prices.

If you wish to collect any items, I'm in the North East, TS17, which I'm aware is miles away from everyone and everything.
