New house 1 v old car 0 (rear lights)

Having just moved house, the first time I tried to park the BX I somehow forgot about the bay window ending up minus a rear light...

No worries, I knew that somewhere in the as yet to be unpacked shed that I had some spares. The first ones I found were ones I'd removed in 2002 from a scrap G-reg GTi which has supplied me with a stock of useful spare parts in the years since. Except these two were unsmoked and didn't match the smoked ones on my car. Fortunately I found a smoked one, but this was much, much darker. Thus, I resorted to eBay for one that looked closer to mine but was still darker!

My question is how many versions of rear light were there? Unsmoked, smoked and very smoked? Or was the very dark version for the 16v or could it just be the case that my original lights have simply faded?

I went through this same saga. I think there are red, green, none and dark tint.

I seem to have three variations of dark tint!

1) Brown smoked
2) Early
3) Green
4) Blue

Thanks for finding that! I wonder if I need my eyes testing? I think that there has been a certain amount of fading. My cheap eBay purchase had the other side so I might buy that to even them up!

Fading can be an issue, hence there may be some variation between all the different lights, only brand spanking new one's are likely to be a colour match. I've got a selection of lights that i've not checked out, if you get stuck give me a shout & i can see what i've got.
