A BX 16 Valve and afternoon tea

Post by Dave_16v »

After the long winter I decided to tax the valver and take it for a run. We know Citroen is 100 years old this year but there is another reasonably well known brand also celebrating It's centenary, Bettys Tea Rooms. So we stopped for a tea and a Fat Rascal before a drive around in the sun.

:D No one knows for sure who the Betty was. It was the name the founder gave at the time, could have been his friend perhaps.

Earlier this month I had hoped to be getting the BX out for a few runs starting in April, hopefully having said goodbye to winter. Little did I know what the situation would be now. Driving for pleasure is out of the question and Bettys is now closed with blinds down but seeing it made me look back to this lovely day which is approaching a year ago. It was the year of the amazing UCI world Championships and I was looking forward to various sporting events this year starting with the TT and leading on to the Euros and lots more. We will get to see them in the future but you would never have thought something like this would happen other than in the movies.

On the positive side, there is an abundance of daffodils to be seen on those brief essential trips and it is nice to look back on memories from previous times, something that BX ownership is all about for many on here. :D
