Back to BX ownership - and my first petrol

Post by bussell »

So I picked up this little peach of a BX at the weekend 23k miles from new and only one owner!

Really impressed with how it gets down the road for a little 1.4. And absolutely no luxuries being a 14E

Will do the cam belt and water pump first then see if the garage marks can be sorted!

Lovelly! I was really impressed by both my suitcase and TU engined BX's. Both happily did hundreds of miles in a day when called for and without any hassle or feeling laggy on the motorway. The TU was certainly perkier but the suitcase was pretty good too

Great fun 14's, my 1st bx mk1 14re with rattly old suitcase engine and a 4 sp box I recall, think we parted company early 90s with circa 140k's, a knackered clutch, very leaky engine and hyd pump failure, so off it went to join several other bx's at the local scrapyard, think £45 was the scrap value.
Fun whilst it lasted.

Nice, one of the first with the TU engine over the old lay back Peugeot engine, very rare indeed, interesting its lost its Leader Decals at some time?

It never had them, checked back with original owner and it never had all its decals so wondering what happened there, I’ve found a company who make them so think I’ll order a new set at some point so she’s all at spec
