What make and part/catalogue number were the new spheres? Brand new ones?
Are you saying it feels too soft?

Lol soft is literally the whole point of a Citroen.

If you sit on the tailgate it should pretty much sink all the way to the floor initially, before righting itself. Engine running of course.

I thought you had an issue with the rear being "bouncy".
That would usually mean the car bounces as you drive over bumps and would suggest hard suspension.
Hence the suggestions to replace spheres or rear arm bearings

When you say it still feels soft, do you mean it is the same as before but this time you have used "soft" in place of "bouncy"? If so it was probably OK to start with.
Just so we know where things stand. :)

Of course, you may have had faulty, worn or incorrect spheres in the first place and / or you could have incorrect now. What make, part number/spec are they?

Prefer it to the Lamborghini, like Signor Gandini!

Basically if I pull away it drops down instantly , if I brake when driving the back goes up in the air.

If I pull away quickly it nearly bottoms out!

I have vids but cannot post them

That suggests that there's air trapped in the rear suspension.
Bleeding is necessary if any significant work/dismantling (eg sphere replacement) is done to the hydraulic circuit.

Bleed at the brake nipples:
- Do a few Citrobics: High-low-high-low
- Put suspension on Highest
- Body supported under trailing arms, so all wheels are off the ground, and weight of car is on rear suspension (axle stands or blocks under trailing arms)
- Remove wheels
- Engine running, brake pedal lightly pressed (length of wood between seat front and brake pedal)
- 1 extra litre of LHM in the tank
- Open bleed nipples, and bleed off until running air-free
- Do in this order: RR, RL, FR, FL (Is this right for a BX?) and expect up to a litre from RR, much less at the the others
- Check LHM level in the tank
- Refit wheels, return to ground.

As this /\ , sounds like you have trapped gas from previously leaking spheres trapped in the rear brake lines.

Plus how good is your tick time from your pump, needs to be 20 seconds plus ideally 30. if less I would suggest also changing your accumulator sphere which may have leaked.
