I know it's possible to paint the bumpers again. I've seen a white 1988 GTi with (admittedly not quite authentic) colour coded bumpers. Looked very nice. I got a quote for doing your white one's bumpers and if my memory serves me right, worked out at £190. I thought, for that I'd do them myself! - but as you can gather I never got around to it. But I found a grey paint that I was going to use - it was a Renault colour I seem to remember...

It's certainly something i'll have too look into, it'll never be perfect but she deserves looking after, best £45 i've ever spent, she's given me 3 weekends of fun already.

Yes, mine are the silver trims with the black strips.

They are available to the right buyer ie. anybody who has an early GTi!

Remember to glue the trim rings back on the trims themsleves as they have a habit of falling off! hence why you arrely see them with original trims on!

Is this GTi going to make it to the CCC National? I hope so - it'd be good to see her again!

I'm hoping to make the national, a bit of work this weekend is needed but all being well she'll be there.

As for Knutsford, i know nothing about that one but i'm sure i can get up there
