Top Gear Christmas Special

Post by panky »

There's a GTi 4x4 on the show tonight. Looks like the one that's been around the selling and auction sites all year, hopefully they don't wreck it :(

If it hasn't already wrecked itself..
And in the best colour
The new top gear team don't seem as obsessed with wrecking everything so it may be in with half a chance of surviving.

I do wince at what they did to the Peugeot 106 Rallye in the Himalayas :? But generally they do treat the cars a bit better,

The car did well. Hopefully it survived the mods, the tree, and the front-end bump.
Wonder if they realised just how rare a car it was - or cared.
An innane programme; shan't make any effort to watch another.

Yes I think it survived very well – I cringed quite a few times. But Chris Harries definitely knew and appreciated how rare it was – he said so on several occasions.

I wonder if Harris will actually keep it as he said he would.

Read a few reviews on this episode, not to everyone's liking, I must admit I found it a little long winded but tolerable (bar Paddy McGuiness).

Well I am over in France at the moment so have been spared having to watch this particular brand of petrolhead stuff.
Good publicity though for the BX we love to play with so much.
The Joy of BX with just one Citroën BX to my name now. Will I sing Bye Bye to my GTI or will it be Till death us do part.

I find Paddy nearly annoying as that Go Compare Guy, in my opinion hes just not funny

Typical top gear hitting each others car, a least he didn't thrash it like the XR3i was, 7000rpm in a old CVH engine isnt wise....

I saw a busted mirror and damaged bumpers
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

It was good to see Chris Harris' genuine enthusiasm for the BX and it can't do any harm to raise its profile. However according to the handbook "Do not exceed 25mph with the differential lock engaged."

Did anyone else notice the additional stalk on the side of the lights? IOWBX did the 4x4 have an aftermarket cruise control fitted or something else?

I have to say that the XR3i to my mind hasn't aged as well as the BX.
