Squeek!

Post by Philip Chidlow »

New front pads fitted for MOT on Thursday. Squeal like a stuck pig. Do I have to wait until they bed in? Or is there something I can do?

They should settle down after a few miles, how were the discs, were there wear grooves or anything?

Philip,

I would suggest a thin smear of copperslip on the pad backing......it will usually stop the resonant squeel that you have at present.
By the way did I see you approaching the Army and Navy the other day in a rather swish looking silver BX ?

Tim. :)

Yes, I guess, as I frequent that marvel of modern road planning on a daily basis!

I will get the old copper grease out. I find the squealing sound penetrates the reassuring roar of the air conditioning
