Series 1

Post by pnichols »

Hello, I'm looking a good early series 1, preferably 1983 / 84. The lower the spec the better, 14RE is ideal but will consider other variants. I know they probably don't come up often, keeping an eye out on other european sites. Thanks, Philip

Hi and welcome, Mk1 Bx's are rare to find, especially the 1.4.... keep an eye on ebay and the like. France would be the place to find one, if you can live with Left hand drive. However Tom Saint James will have a 16TRS for sale soon (LHD)
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

Hello, yes they are, I had a Meteor 20 years ago and used to visit the page regularly, they were hard to find even then. I found the ideal one in France but it sold yesterday! Any pics of the TRS welcome., LHD isn't an issue.

I will indeed have a LHD MK1 16TRS SE (Swiss dealer special edition) for sale soon, not low spec - quite the opposite! I think you will be waiting for quite some time to find a MK1 14, there are only a handful left I expect.
The TRS is in a bit of a state and not yet registered, but I plan to get it road legal to sell. It was supposed to be a parts car but I felt bad breaking it, its too good for that. I did a little walkaround video of it, the carb is knackered and it has a load of swiss market emissions stuff in there, all that will be going and a UK spec carb going in. The swiss 16 interestingly only has 75 bhp, same as the TU 14! It must be strangled by the EGR/emissions stuff.

I'm not a Saint, or a James, but a Tom Saint-James!
