While at Rustival a couple of people mentioned headphone jack sockets that were fitted to the back of the centre console. I checked it out and what I thought were mounting nuts were indeed the said sockets. Not tried them out yet but I'll need to find an adapter with a big jack plug first. Probably common knowledge but a surprise for me, I don't remember them being fitted to my old GTi.

I think I might have a heater leak after all. Evidence of a trace of coolant showing at the heater outlet on the centre console I've seen heater matrix's for sale in various places but no specific model was stated, is the matrix the same for MK1 and MK2 cars. It would be good to know before I go any further.

I struggled with a different car and it turned out surprisingly easy to get one made up.

Not sure where you are but I used these guys http://www.angliaradiators.co.uk. But hopefully something exists locally to you.
