How to remove 16V bodykit question

Post by roscoe »

Hi Folks
I'm down to stripping the last bits off my 16V parts car and can't figure out to get the front and rear guard extensions off. The side skirts are pop-riveted on -they are no problem. I've undone the wing-nuts inside the guards for both the front and rear extensions though, and there is no way they will budge - and I don't want to crack them by forcing them off. I suspect they have been stuck on as well with some kind of two side tape or similar - has anyone on here been able to get them off and if so - how?
They are in good shape and I don't want to send the body shell to the scrappers with them on!!
cheers,
Roscoe

It is really good mastic, very hard to shift indeed.
