I have been to view this car on http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... L:RTQ:UK:1
1.7tzd, it was in good condition, and ran OK, i think it has a few minor faults, such as a leaking diesel pipe. The chap seemed genuine enough, but this morning I have managed to lay my hands on a 1 lady owner 40k immaculate example, hence i will not be bidding. The seller moves to France on Wednesday, so worth thinking about, his minimum is only £100, and it is definately worth it
Good buy on e-bay

I've just bought this car, the diesel leak was a lot worse than described, and left a pool of diesel everytime i left the car anywhere.
Its in being done at the mo though, then i gotta patch up the holes in the boot floor, sort the abs light, replace the bulbs in the dash, service it, clean the foot prints off the seats and fix the drivers window

Well, i dont feel like i've been done as its a pretty nice car to drive.
The Mrs prefers driving the 1300 golf we have, but what does she know! lol
Won't take much to fix her up, and the body is straight and the only rust is the bits in the boot.
loads of history, cambelt and spheres done recently so its all good
