Faded Bonnet syndrome

Post by pinfold »

My new 16v has the obligatory faded bonnet syndrome.

Any top tips on revival boys and girls, other than T-Cut and elbow grease!

T-cut, elbow grease, polishing mop, sweat, sore arms....... Or change/spray the bonnet! They usually polish up well but fade again very quickley. The long term way is spray the panel. My car is turning pink, when I get around to it I'll spray it, but a few hours with polishing mop and good resin polish make it look acceptable for a couple of weeks.

You want to get hold of someone competant with a proper machine polisher (not a halfords £30 job!) to have a go at the car!
with a proper machining and some good polish and a sealant the colour ought to stay in the panels for a fair while! as long as its looked after!
polish it up make it look nice and then leave it for 2 months before washing it again and your back to sqaure one!
if you were closer to me then i would say pop donw and ofr a beer or two i would do it for you!
