Jeremy, the trade will offer what the trade usually offer-the square root of eff all most likely. However, and with respect, I think the question here is the value of the car as a private sale in which case it`s only worth what someone will pay for it. Looking at it I`d say that will be a good amount because it`s a lovely looking car. Yes, it might take a little longer to sell than, say, a diesel but there will be a few people out there who`d love to won it and will probably a decent (and fair) amount for it.
Please note I`m trying to have a dig at you here Jeremy and if I misinterpreted your post I apologise.

That is precisely the point I'm making. It may look lovely - it may go like new - but its worth **** all.

V6

Post by Geoffrey Gould »

No disrepect to anyone but its the old thing that it is worth what ever someone is willing to pay for it. You have only to look at eBay, if you must, to see that there are no hard and fast rules that way.
Cheers.

The whole point of this post is to advertise a Xantia V6. If you want to talk about the value of Xantia's then maybe the french car forum is a good place to start the conversation?

Quite agree Ian and my post was supposed to read as that as it`s a private sale then trade figures don`t come into it and was also intended to suggest that we shouldn`t really be talking about dealer figures when one of our members was selling his car.
Apologies if it was misinterpreted, it wasn`t my intention.

Lads, £450 is stretching me far enough.....it may not even be possible! It was a thought as I'm considering a Xantia V6.
