Desperately Wanted

Post by Ian_Fearn »

The local dealer has let me down on a water temperature gauge sender. I believe it is the same one as fitted to a GTi BX on the thermostat housing.

The gauge and wiring is now done on my car and i just need the sender. Does anybody have one as i'm going to France in 10days time and really want it for that trip.

Cant help with a spare one since I aint got one but if you wander into most auto electrical stores and ask for a 51150 water sensor they are a perfect replacement. I've bought a few of these over the years and they've all been spot on.

I've looked on my faithful spare engine and I may be able to help. It's not actually fitted to the housing, but to another casting about 6 inches away(linked by a pipe to the thermostat housing)Will post a picture when I get my camera later on

can i please have the cast unit that its screwed into????

Been after one of them for a hell of along time, citroen dont sell them anymore, resolves my radiator problems and would let me put any rad into my next project BX (which is starting to look mid engined).

However i think that is the Radiator trigger switch and NOT the temp sensor ian needs, what size is the nut, im guessing around 19-22mm?

PS is that a 1.6 engine? If it is then i'd say its the rad/fans switch and not the temp guage.

I might cry its so beautiful!

Does anyone know what colour the top of the temp sensor should be? The BX one has a single spade connector from memory but i can't remember what colour it is, i know its not the one with the hole in the end (thats the pressure sensor). If someone can point me in the right direction i've probably got one!
