TD engine from Poogo 405 into N/A BX?

Post by ed4ferrets »

Saw this ad and wondered how much of a headache it is to convert and transplant, also is the gearbox compatible? :-k

as it says on the tin mate ..... free to collector!!

I still hanker after the TD extra performance for when it's needed but in estate form, a windfall like DLM's estate would have been nice but transplant surgery may be my only option. At 95k the engine has just about been run in (assuming it's kosher) but I would like to find out more of the practicality of the pipedream project.

eeeer, should this post be under technical rather than chat perhaps? :?

The 405 gearboxes need modding if you run a HP pump the runs off the cam....the main control linkage into the box is at a different angle to a BX one, it either needs changing over or blow torching til its red hot, smacking with a big hammer and bending with a pair of Stilsons.
