I've been on the look out for something interesting to do for a few months now since the departure of the MK1
This week I found the lovely Silver estate car (now mine) and then tonight another BX owner has just popped in to tell me about his mate who wants to sell his TZD estate. Am I interested?
Well yes but
Why does it always have to be like this no BX estates round here for well over a year, maybe more then 2 come together.
Must have been down every back street in horrible Heckmondwike today but couldn't find the beast.
I'm told it's definately still there so another visit is on the cards for the weekend.
Now in reality I don't think it's as bad as it looks. It's MOT'd untill end of April and had only covered 60miles since last MOT.
It had a new battery, front spheres, accumalator,LHM pump and the long reinforced water hose replaced for the last test. Some one who parked it in it's current location hit a short wooden post and damaged the side. Other than that the car isn't in too bad a condition.
The stone chips on the bonnet have been touched up and it doesn't look good and someone has grey painted the top half of the front bumper.
A friend of mine is interested in buying it, but want's t oknow what it's worth?
It`s current location and the fact it has sustained damage (however light) tells me it`s sub £100 material. Personally speaking I`d turn up in your sixty quider, tell them how much you paid for it and offer the same for this one.
Old cars are worth naff all these days, £60 for example would buy you something a lot newer and more modern (in some people`s eyes).
The damage is bottom half both n/s doors, there is some paint with the car and also some spares including a radiator.
I don't think he'll be too bothered about the damage and we're both going to have another look on thursday night. I wouldn't be happy with a quick once over with the green paint, but he may well be.
My mate came over tonight and was looking longingly at my silver machine, then we went over to have a look at this one.
"Mmm, not as nice as your is it" he says. needless to say he didn't make an offer on this one. Pity really as it'll probably end up in the crusher. I reckon it's worth more in parts than as a complete car.
