BX Savage

Post by docchevron »

There was an interesting post on www.aussiefrogs.com about a bx savage:
http://www.aussiefrogs.com/forum/showthread.php?t=39678

Anyone know if there any of these beasts in the UK? I'd love to have a go in one!

Cheers

Get a decal cut by a specialist and stick it on an 8 valve GTi and off you go.

Could be confused with a Leader!

What's the point its only an 8 valve GTi and you can't se the transfer when yo're driving it.

And it is "Sauvage", not Savage! All I can see here is that it has (supposedly) a stiffer anti-roll bar than standard (TD?) and restricted suspension movement - Bullshit! Just a sticker job, methinks but as I have a mate over there in the historic vehicles mafia, I'll do some further research.

Just a thought but could it be a certain dealer only `limited edition`. I mention this because I remember going into my local Talbot dealer many moons back and they were making their own limited edition cars! The chap in there told me they were getting the wheel trims sprayed body colour, putting an upmarket stereo in, fitting a glass sunroof and getting someone to make up graphics with some silly name on them. Bingo! a car that was old stock and pretty much unsaleable now becomes a `limited edition`.

The trouble with limited editions is working out if you've gained something useful or simply not noticed that the bit you wanted has been left out!

Going ever so slightly OT - my father recently went into the local Fraud dealers to try and buy a Fiasco 1.4 Diesel - they quite literally would not sell him one trying to push a 1.25 petrol "Special Edition" instead - my fatehr told the said dealer to shove the petrol car where the sun does not shine when the dealer said that my father "did not really want a diesel".

I have owned several "Limited Editions" - some came with less equipment than the basic cars (The Fraud Fiesta Azure being a point in note).

Never was any good at french :D although I can swear at the car in fluent french! :D :D

BX TONIC......The glovebox was replaced with a drinks cabinet perhaps! 8)

COTTAGE...... AGA and a thatch roof instead of glass sunroof?!? :D

Might see if I can order a decal!

I saw a BX 'Event' in France once but that could've been an after market / dealer special...

I`d hazard a guess that this meant they either couldn`t get a diesel one or there was more bonus in selling a petrol version instead.

When working for the Rover dealer we made up our own special editions which had a few extras, normally alloy wheels a CD and body coloured bits but were based on standrad low spec models.
