Amazingly detailed description and wonderful pictures. Not.
Still, if it`s as promising as it potentially could be I think that`s a fair price. Would love to see it but typically it`d darn sarf  :D

If it were a 16v I would say it's a fair price, not sure about an 8v. Pushing it a little maybe but... maybe it is incredible ;) who knows!

Post pictures if anyone goes to see it!

Shame it's not a later one - that pipe work'll still be vulnerable at that age.

Pipework has probably been done - most have

Strange - as no tax or MOT yet he thinks its worth that much. Most sellers would have put an MOT on it just for sale.

Have asked the seller if it's a 8v or 16v.

If it's a 16v then certainly off to see it this weekend, 8v then maybe.

One of the plus points on my 1988 16v when I bought it was that all the pipes had been replaced with plastic coated :D

He's an idiot frankly! How can you expect to get a good price for a car with that! Its more of an advert really.

This is actually fairly close to me however, so if anyone needs a quick viewing I can have a gander for you. Although its not exactly local, so more when I'm passing kinda thing.

Have had a response back from the seller (Derek).

This is an 8v car.

Far too much money I think, I sold a very nice Gti for less than half that a few weeks back, ok it had done 85k but the body was pretty much mint and mechanically it was very good, I thnk hes about £300 out of bed.

Quite right Mike P if it was a 16v then its a bargain!

Assuming it is very good condition (indeed), with that mileage, a full history etc. with MOT and Tax - about £700 tops. Without MOT or Tax, what hope? £450 tops?

I think £950 reflects more the owners' attachment to it - having owned it from new (but only having done less that 1k miles per year? How much can they have liked it? ). If it's had 19 years of irregular short trips, how will it have fared, I wonder.

Someone should tell him/them £950's way off beam, but if he wants it to go to a good home - the best home it could have i.e. a Forum member - he should come on this site with loads more details. And some pictures :!:

Without an MOT it'll fetch its value in scrap. With an MOT and IF its a genuine car in as good condition as its mileage would suggest then a figure close to a grand should be realistic, but probably only within the Citroen Car Club where i've sold some cars for top money.

I've had an offer of £1500 for my TZD so a GTi with less than half the mileage should be worth 8-900 quid of anybodies money.

the trouble i see with very very low milage cars are that when you start using them after them being sat for so long then they are inevitably going to start to go wrong! what with it being french and all!

If you can answer me one question with a truthful answer Phil, its yours.

The question is:

Is there any other car i could buy that would give me so much back for such little money?
