We then visited the CCC stand and there was a disturbing lack of BXs. We also got carried away over an orange Chrysler Alpine and spent some time sitting in it with the avid owner! We also met other BXclub faces such as Mr Ian Fearn.
I feel a repeat performance coming on.

A 750 BIS or the aircooled 594/650? If its the "BIS" beware, they have a nasty habit of warping the heads ............If you need any bits for it let me know ....one of my buddies has spent the last 18months making a good 'un from two basket cases ...[both 750 BIS's] ......I dunno what he's got spare, the latest on it was that after attempting to make a good engine & box unit from two fubar'd ones hes now got one decent engine & a gearbox which jumps out of 1st gear [and a pile of "worn out bits" left over] ......I advised him to take an angle grinder to the bodywork and "flatpack" as much of the body panels as he could as they seem to rot in the most peculiar places.

Its a BIS watercooled one,

Thanks for the offer of 'some worn out old bits' thats usually exactly what i need :-)

But i see where you are coming from. I may need help with thoughts or bits when we get it, she is picking it up on sunday hopefully, only a 100 mile drive home for her in it :-)

And she thought 2CV's were noisy!!!

I'll be there, the wifey will be too.

The tax runs out at the end of the month on her GTi auto. I casually suggested that she buys something newer and more economical.

The tumbleweed passed but she's talking to me again now..... needless to say i sorted the tax out tonight

Quite possibly, i'm currently getting grief as to why the brand new exhaust is STILL sat in the garage and why i've not put a new set of spheres on it yet.
