Plip
Hi can anyone help i have followed the info on the bob smith site to recode my plip keyfob to a replacement receiver and i have had no luck at getting it to work I have tried 2 receivers and i have checked the keyfob with new batterys and a digi camera and there is definately a good output from the ir LED so if anyone has done this with success can i be so bold as to PM or Email them my keyfob pinouts so they can have a look and see if they come up with the same pin code for the receiver as me.

Sleepy, I'm not sure if you're interested in (I'm gonna swear now ok?) 'aftermarket' stuff but I did purchase a r/c locking device from ebay about a year ago and it works a treat. It resembles (loosely) the VW/Audi (and I'm convinced it was almost identical to one of 'the mums' (I do the school run!!!) plips for her 'failed elk dodge test' of a motor aka M*erc A Class - now that's a heapus crapus
Anyhoo, the key folds away and the black box of electrics fits nicely in the centre console by the hand brake. My dad had the IR plip and you had to be standing at exactly the right longtitude holding on to a yam to get it to work. This thing works from 25 meters and has been great. Doesn't look trendy or wanky like some aftermarket cr*p can.
You need to cut a couple of wires so it may not suit if you want to keep the car authentic. Could be an alternative. If you're interested, I'll have a look see if there's one on ebay....??
