Its the only red BX I have seen, and I have a red one, ok who cares if its a Mk 1 and not a diesel, it will look quite nice thank you next to my other 1:43 models (Xantia, Mk1 Fiasco, Mk 2 Metro, ZX, Laguna, Mini Sprite (83) ADO 16, Morris Marina, Austin Allagro.) looking for a Mk 2 and Mk 3 Fiasco and a Mk 2 Polo break in 1:43 scale, and currently bidding on a Maestro. All cars out of the multitudes I have owned that I have a soft spot for. Other cars like the Beemer 320 can go to Hull as they were worse than bad.

Hello...
That's my car ! Drove down there , it started, it stopped , it didn't pi$$ green stuff all over the road ... it has a full service history one owner other than me now, the owner can't renew his driving license
.. and he insisted it coming with a new MOT ... put the asking in the man's hand.
This is my 4th BX ...
2 16's ... A749 CJR and C109ATR , both saw over 200,000 miles...
and a 16V (whose number I can't remember) which had schrik cams, go faster compomotive wheels and all sorts of extras (the indescresions of youth) .. eventually recovered by the police after it being stolen and smashed up good and proper
Anyway, nice to meet you all....
Andy

Welcome to the Club. Nice to see the 16's (as opposed to 16V's) getting a decent look in. I was sorely tempted last night by a local 16 that went on eBay for £336 - it was a nice example too.
Enjoy.
BTW sounds like you has a very early BX (A749 CJR) - when was that - and what happened to it?

I've got this one too, its pretty good for the money. Front end is too flat and the rear arches are the wrong shape, but other than that its good.Marty wrote:Not yet - is coming from Spain.cavmad wrote:Nice looking model, have you got it yet? Quality and detail look really nice!

I just sold the red Norev version, not quite as detailed but better shape.

It just wore out. I bought it at 92,000 (in 1989 I think) and it went to the scrap yard with 230,000 ...In those miles it never leaked a drop of LHM. I changed the oil religiously every 4,000... The clutch actuator arm broke at about 100,000; it ate a cam at about 120k..and got 2 new front spheres as well. I have no recolection of changing the rear ones. The damn thing just ran and ran and ran... It was a 16TRS and had some odd size alloy wheels (I think I used to run montego tyres on it)... I just couldn't face putting another clutch in it... and the gearbox was starting to sound like a legion of cavalry dismounting. It was a nice metallic blue colour. It didn't have power steering.Philip chidlow wrote:Welcome to the Club. Nice to see the 16's (as opposed to 16V's) getting a decent look in. C109 ATR had the same more interesting dash in it as A749CJR. It ate a cam at about the same time. Died due to a horrific outbreak of tinworm in the front subframe, and the fabric in the seats "rotted" in the sunlight. It was "dissentry" beige. Had spheres, an octopus and a clutch in it's journey through to 200K
