BX 19 TZi Auto Estate for sale

Hi all me again!!!

Having just aquired a TZD estate with aircon i'll have to get rid of my TZi estate earlier than expected..
Has 98,000 on the clock with comprehensive service history
I've replaced the windcreen
the metal fuel pipes
ABS looms front
rear hydraulic pipe.
Cambelt replaced at 75,000 miles (can replace for a further £50)

The spec includes
One touch driver window mech
front fogs
chin spoiler
185/60/14 tyres in good condition
sunroof
x4 headrests
19 petrol engine in good order
spheres in good condition
auto box very smooth (I'll include a spare autobox with the price

bad points.
Scratch on the n/s passenger door
bumper n/s has a crack though I can replace as I have another
I'll be putting the correct hubcaps on (off as I had just replaced the tyres)
Anyone interested the price including 12 months MOT is £495. Part ex welcome

Having already impressed her by reducing your fleet can't she allow you any further indulgence?

Well, chaps, we don't want to get rid of my silver GTi auto, which is great. And we can't afford another car until next year, having recently moved into a house where hardly any of our furniture fits!

And next year I have an idea that my lovely wife (she is, really) has plans - judging from her watched items on eBay: Citroen Synergie TD, (a rather nice) Ford Scorpio Ultima Estate, etc.

I took one in part ex not long ago went straight out again to a trade contact. Horrible

I've got my work cut out with the TZD Turbo as it needs a new head (which I have thankfully) and a condensor for the aircon..

I'd hear nothing said against a Fiat Panda unless it concerned rust, clutch cables or Head Gaskets in France. Lovely little unpretentious little cars so long as you take them at face value. I can't think of another car that I could strip the interior out of so quickly for chattels-transporting duties.

It was the `Comfort` part, DLM. My dad had one and it was as comfortable as sitting on a breezeblock doing 100mph on solid tyres over some cobble stones.
Still, he must like them as he`s not long bought a brand new one!

I had a Panda once. It was a 750cc. I did a top speed run (surprise surprise) and achieved 93mph downhill. At which point every warning light the car had came on. Nearly rolled it too.
When I got it, it had a 1in deep puddle in the floor, which was plastic...no carpets. So I drilled loads of little holes in it and it drained away. Then I gaff taped the sunroof shut so it didn't leak anymore.

Used to chew fuel, was very very slow, grinded in every gear, was rusty, had a TOWBAR!!!

? What could it tow? It couldn't tow a trail wind. Good fun though

I only had it for a couple of weeks. Gave it away when my other car was out of the bodyshop.

Ah - the Comfort seats....

I used to like the stripped-out interiors on the Panda because you knew you were in an honest tin box, unlike the small Fords of the time that were padded-up and plastic-ed tin boxes masquerading as something else.

THe Panda I drove for much of the 60k miles we got out of it before part-exing it for a BX (!) had the old 903cc engine with the timing chain that rattled after a pretty short time. I'd be surprised if very many chains were replaced in Pandas as the original purchase price was so low the cars became throwaway after a few years.

The plastic floor you describe, Kitch, sounds a bit like the original floor in a 70s Visa - rubberised plastic with a circular raised pattern. Dead practical if you were transporting anything that might leak. If your Panda managed to chew fuel then it must have been a pretty sick one - most were 40 mpg-ers easily - even when driven Italian-style.
