I'm no expert - (so this all 'IMHO') - but from what you say it sounds a nice car. (Assuming you get the struts sorted before you sell) Being manual means it's more 'common' (sorry no offence intended ) and the fault with the heater will dent its value, but the plus points you mention should see it attain £350-400 - the spare radiator could help push that up another £20. (Assume yours is on an 'H' or up I think a post-1990 car will be more desirable from the pipework relaibility angle so that'd help).
If you get the strut business resolved by replacing with good reconditioned ones, add alloys - or have decent OE trims, sort the heater out, give it good valet and polish and you may be looking at £475-500 - or more (we live in hope)...
Not brilliant, but better than it might have been a year ago.

Its an H reg, i do have some alloys but would want at least what the tyres cost as they are brand new £200, i may try e-bay once the struts are sorted. Not sure on how to sort the heater though? It does work, just no cold air & not as powerful perhaps as it should be?
Ian is hopefully coming round this Sat to diagnose the strut issue, he may be able to offer advice on the heater as well. Seems like its worth more in bits than as a whole car, shame really. Great to buy, but lousy to sell on.
I unfortunately paid over the odds for mine as it was riddled with problems which have now all but been sorted apart from strut & heater prob. Hopefully will only leave the heater issue o/s. Car does come with michelin tyres mind.
Mulley, I`d recommend starting a new thread about the car in `for sale and wanted`. It`ll hopefully get a wider audience and a few pictures will help. For anyone who`s not seen it it`s very nice car and well cared for too.
I would certainly suggest it`s way to good for parts and hope someone will take it on.
I hope I haven't upset you - I think the car is worth much more to you than the 'market rate' would imply - It's the same with me. My car owes me lots, but it's still cheap motoring. Can you post pics? That always helps. Selling the alloys separately seems the best bet, if the steels have decent tyres.

Philip, you havent upset me at all, probably just the way i have written my text (poorly i guess). I'm not at a stage where i can sell her, i need to get the suspension problem that i have (i think its the struts, hopefully ian is popping over this sat to diagnose problem). Once i know the score it will get sorted so that the car will then be perfect with the exception of it not coming booted with alloys & an issue with no cold air from the ventilation system...
I wont be breaking for spares, so you can all sit down & take a deep breath, i was only saying figuratively its worth more in bits, cos it is.
Whats a car worth, thats always an interesting one, especially the bx as its not really viewed as a classic as such, its currently just sneaking out of the banger territory (except the 16v which is recognised as rare & a classic). I think there is hope, especially as some low mileage 8v's have gone for 16v money. I personally dont think that low mileage should add that much to them, as they probably will have nice huge bills round the corner as they have done so little running, afterall all the bits will more than be likely be the originals which are over 13 years old......
Cavmad has pm'd me with some queries which i have responded to.
Until i get the suspension sorted i wont be posting what i want for the car, but once sorted i will give members of the club 1st chance as lots of people have helped me & i would like to see Haggerty going to a good home (HxxxAGG). I will do a seperate thread when she is for sale.
Having read Mulley`s pm I would seriously suggest that if anyone is thinking of purchasing a BX they`d do very well to speak to him. As I say I`ve seen the car (as have others at the northern meet and other places too) and it`s very nice for the age.
