many thanks
many thanks
as probably the newest member of this club,
I am allready chuffed with the advice I have received particularly regarding my stiff suspension,
but I would like to give a huge thank you to BANDIT,who not only had a spare pair of front spheres, that he wouldn't take anything for, but even fitted them for me ,
what a guy,
ART

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Thanks for the kind words Art. I remember when I got my spheres replaced after they went pop and as I had not had the car long, I'd never had the suspension soft as it should be. Softride in Essex did them for me and I still remember the difference was astounding - very pleasing, so I'm glad you are pleased too.
Your car is a minter mate and at 19k miles I'd hazard a guess at possibly the lowest mileage BX around and quite definitely one of the best examples still on the road - complete with new car smell that reminded me of my Dads company car BX when he first got it.
I too have been at the receiving end of great generosity from people on this site so its a real pleasure to pass it on! With us two and Charlie in Cardiff we got a little S Wales posse! Big it up dude rules!!!!

Is Dennis still going then?? Lovely bloke - think he's a naturist and he invited me to swim in his pool while he worked on the car - wasn't sure about that so I remained fully clad and watched him play with my spheres

He is still going. You're right he is a naturist. And brown as a conker! I sat and had a coffee by his pool while he did some work. His wife came and joined me for a chat. Clothed, I hasten to add
I'm seeing him soon, so let me have your moniker and I'll pass on your regards...

Well, he must see so many people but I'm Neil with a Red TGD and I've seen him 3 or 4 times + spoken a further 3 or 4 times. I used to live in Brentwood or Stratford during the times I went to see him. He is indeed as brown as a conker - he's Maltese I think and loves diving.
It always amused me when he recharged spheres - he'd toddle off from the ramp into a shed somewhere and you'd hear all this hissing and you think "Oooh, he's f*cked that one up" Then he'd come back, paint the 'nipple' blue and send you on your way feeling all floaty like....Nice bloke, very friendly. If he remembers then surely give him my best

Loved that Dean,,,,,,,,
But right at the moment I'm celebrating the return to mint condition of my TZD which was barged into by a muppet who thought he could push 20 supermarket trolleys at once.
This single malt is to be savoured. Its my birthday.
It has taken me FOUR fu****n moths to get the door back into exellence -I've got loads of free shoping vouchers as consolation.
But the big thrill is to see my car in near mint condition. These BXs are the tops - there isn't a more handsome car around.
end of drunken thread
But then I look at what
Chris had done, and feel very humbled, if not pissed off. I will never achieve that sort of confidence/competence.
and of course so many thanks to all the great guys who give their expert advice .
