Right. Im planning to put the GT on ebay on the weekend, but want to fix the things that are wrong with it before I do. I have replace the lower speedo cable, but then discovered that the top one must have gone at the same time (well, on the same journey anyway). GSF say they only do the MK2 upper speedo cable. As mine is a GT with the more conventional dials, I was wondering whether it might be the same as the MK2 one, so I was wondering if anyone had one hanging round the garage they could measure for me? Also a picture of the end connectors would be great, or thread diameter?
The other thing im going to sort is the oil leak, which im confident is the N/S camshaft oil seal.
Any help would be very much appreciated. Its just I dont want to spend £15-£20 on a cable then find it doesnt fit.
Cheers, Adam

Thanks for all your help guys. I take it > July 1986 means before 1986, which would equal Mk1? I know > or < means greater or less than, but it always confuses me when they do it with dates lol. Thanks for the link ellevie.
Sleepy, thanks for the offer of a photo and measurement. What ill do before lunchtime tomorrow is ill call the company on the link Ellevie gave, and see how confident they are that they can supply one.
Ken, if you managed to connect a Mk1 cable to a Mk2, I would imagine if the worse came tro the worse, I'd definately get away with a Mk2 on a Mk1.
Cheers again. Adam

We went through this several months ago & your take was the general concensus at that time. It would have been better if they had been arrows but of course the arrows on the keyboard are non-printing.ellevie wrote:It's probably better to think of the chevrons as arrows rather than inequality signs.
This is my take on it.

If you forget that they are supposed to be arrows, it can drive you bonkers trying to work out the logic as inequalities
MarkII > MarkI maybe...but many people think the MarkI is reater than the MarkII
part number > year ??
3 apples greater than 2 pounds of butter ???
Maybe double chevrons >> would be better
