'Report' from France

Post by Philip Chidlow »

I've just come back from a few days in the Lot & Garonne and thought I'd share my 'spottings' with you: 12 BX's - all shabby, bar one, which was an immaculate Millesime. We did park next to a Mk 1 19RD, being used as a builder's van, by the look of it... The best was a heavily 'used' early estate (Brake) in the equivalent of 'Motorway Maintenance' livery - still being used by the Agen department... with the lights and extremely faded graphics from about fifteen years ago!

Spotted a couple of Visas and CXs and an Ami super. But no GS/GSA's. Spotted a green DS being driven by a Brit though...

Kingswell is telling us that engines there cost more than cars here. :(

Love going to France and spotting rare models...I saw a DS Safari towing a caravan out there, and I had a citroen visa in front of me coming off the ferry..
I broke down in my 2.0 XM Turbo manual in Dunkirk (run out of fuel due to a lying fuel gauge and trip computer) and saw 3 XM's drive by..If that happened here i'd put money on the drivers stopping and having a laugh at the XM's idiosyncracies..
