Interesting point. I parked my BX next to a C3 the other day - the C3 seemed 'bloated' by comparison. I don't think internal dimensions were bigger. Must be all the safety built in. Miind you have you seen how flimsy parts of the C3 are? (e.g. door hinges)

I saw a Mk3 Escort yesterday, been a while since I last spotted one on the road.
These supposed `small` cars are certainly getting bigger. I`m sure Tim will know for certain but I recall there was a report in the last couple of years that said the latest Polo was bigger than the original Golf.

Vauxhall apologist.
New models are always bigger than their predecessors - its a consequence of people getting bigger and less agile as they age and children growing up.
If you ask your loyal customer how he would like his new 'RAT ' to be improved from the one he's already got he will say 'I'd like more room in the back, a bigger engine and more shoulder room' - which is what the manufacturer gives him.
Eventually the manufacturer solves this problem by slipping a new model in underneath - and so it goes on.
Citroen replaced the GS with the bigger (but lighter etc) BX - which in turn was replaced by the bigger Xantia and the ZX was slotted in which seems to have grown into the C4 which looks huge. The AX/Saxo seems to have been replaced with C1 and C2 - again with C3 being slotted in.

I realy like the xsara. my brothers got a posidon blue vtr 1.8 16v and if i didnt have a bx id probably have a helios yellow vts version. As for the bx well its different. It stands out from the crowd, Its cheap, nice choice of interiors, plenty of electric gadgets for its age, And most importantly its comfortable and the hydraulics work a treat as the 16v handles like its on rails. long live the bx.................. They just dont make cars like they used to anymore
The citroen bx loves garages hates driving
