hi folks,
ok this is the last of the pics of work done so far. this lot is the rear end re-furb. i also have changed the steering column but managed to loose all the pics when my memory card got corrupted.

but anyhow heres the old rear end

so i started to strip the rear end.

here you can see where ive taken off some rust before and painted over it. typical boot floor corner corosion. it will get sorted when im at the rust welding stage.

next i looked out my new rear bumper. the paint on it is good and uncracked, its a pity its not the colour as my car already as its in perfect condition.

only problem was it had suffered the usual rusty clips fate but i was prepared for that.

so i got the clip and chisled the rust off its ass. as you can see there wasnt much good metal when i was finnished but there was enough to mount it.

so i got me some of this

and mixed it up with this stuff

then i cleaned the bumper area and placed the clip on. then drowned it with 2 layers of fibre glass resin.

when it dried i popped it on

then to clean up the look i removed the main plate off the towbar (not the whole thing) so it can be put back on if needed. and i painted it black to hide it.

well thats all for now. next i will be putting new doors on. then i have decided to rub the whole car down and fill any little dents (like the one in the roof) and then next year i will hire or buy a compressor and get it primed.

what d'ya think of the work so far. i did that in 2 weeks. plus i did more stuff but lost alot of pics.

Good man, all the best BX's started life as Venetian red. Then they all went pink / white, just like mine has!

hi there,
yup it is by far the best colour, shows up all her curves and lines ooooohh! but hhrrrmm yeah my first car was a broken clutch 1.4 bx when i was 15, that car was minted with seriously low milage not a spot of rust and perfect paint as it lived in its garage at all times when not in use. so the paint was mint, ive never had a good red one since so im gonna have it!
