Anyone going to save this?

Not being mechanically minded, if as per the seller these were the only faults that needed sorting, how much to save this one?

If that had been an estate I`d have gone for it. Reasonable looking car, lots of work been done to it and a great description too. Deserves a good home that one.

I`m, interested in saving it! Any ideas on how much it would cost to resolve the leak?.....based on the info supplied that is.

That leak sounds like Octopus. Having done bits of one I personally don't think they're that tricky. Bit fiddly to get to I admit, but its just rubber pipes isn't it?

Luckily my hands are small and girly

Some one on another thread was quoting £150 for a new octopus.

The part itself would be about £25-30 and a couple of hours of unpleasant work.

Trust me, there are worse jobs on a BX. This looks like a nice one, but like most others on here, it's too far from me.

Saw that, but at £1 a mile thats still going to be expensive to get to Kent & back, compared to at tank of diesel at £50.......

Diesel, its not sexy but it is the correct financial choice these days. Petrol cars are a lot more fun to drive, but as soon as u put the hammer down, thats £50 worth of fuel gone very quick.

I was only getting between 250-300 miles on 45 litres of petrol in the mini, so that was £40 a week, in the TZD i am averaging about 475 miles on 50 litres, quite a difference & thats not even bothering to drive economically either, whereas in the mini i was being pretty careful.

So almost halving my fuel costs in a depreciation free low maintenance (hopefully) motor, not bad eh!!! still prefer the thrill of driving the mini though.... & an even bigger incentive is that Gordon Brown gets less tax from me.....
