As the motivation for the first BX was Diesel economy(BX19RD), then came a few bells and whistles andmore power(GTI/TD) then going for the same thing in the latest bodyshell I could find I would have to say TZD, though had a TZD estate turned up that would probably had similar changes/additions by now.

Personally, I went for the 16TRS. Namely because, it was a 16TRS that got me into Citroens and particularly BX's. I was only about 6 at the time.

And if a 1983/84 red 16TRS popped up in good condition I'd be getting into more debt to own it!

I'd nearly go 16v, but I can't say I prefer a 16v to a GT. I own a 16v, and love it dearly. But if it was a GT I'd bought at the time, I'd still have that.
The only novelty the 16v has over the others, other than looks is the performance which to be fair blows all the others away. The GT is cooler.....I had to think twice about keeping the 16v over the GT back when I owned both, but I'm glad I kept the valver :)

Hmm difficult one, I love my 16v but i prefer the looks of the phase 2 TZ series.

Ultimate BX would be 19TZI Auto in Olympic blue with the later mistral velour interior.

Tim - I would concur - a late TZi (estate) auto with air, in metallic green or just black, would be hard to beat 8)

I voted TZD 'cos thats what I've got .........but the first BX I ever saw was a red one,and it made such an impression on me that even now I think red is the best colour for a BX ........all BX's should be red  ..........I wish my BXtzd was red

Estates still count under those models, if you wanted to select TZD Turbo estate just select TZD Turbo.
