Cheap(ish) CX anyone?
Think there`s a few fans of these on here. This seems pretty well described, no idea of whether it`s good value or not but doesn`t seem to bad.

I`ve also spotted some form of CX around ten miles from here in someone`s garden.

Yeah I know Chris beat me to it!!!!
How did he get it home?? If I remember correctly the fans weren't working and it was up north???
Funny that about the Renault 18 as I've got a Renault 18 Diesel (Must be rare???) I was going to offer him for £40...

That has the potential to be a nice car - but will take blood, sweat and tears in the process. Not to mention £££s. Good luck and if it wasn't for people like Chris these beasts would be rapidly disappearing completely from our roads...
BTW BCXM Renault 18? Nice or Nasty?

Hi Phil...
It's been stood a while haven't heard it turn over I just bought it blind as it was the only 80's Renault I've never owned...I also was offered a Renault 30 Auto but declined it...
It's in red so needs a good scrub and polish i'm sure there is work to do on it how much I can't say...
It's a toss up between getting this car ready for summer or the visa...

Point him in this direction won't you. It's all gone a bit quiet over there recently.mnde wrote:I can now report that my friend Chris has bought this car! He put a speculative bid on it and ended up winning it
That CX am teh lovely, and no doubt about it. Had I the space, I'd have had a pop at it myself. MK1 wings are still available new.

Ok I shall
Have you seen THIS one??
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... :B:EF:UK:2
That is positively gorgeous-o
Chris hasn't got the CX yet; the owner is driving it down to London maybe this week cos he's got business there or he's seeing friends, whatever... Mighty lucky for Chris that!
That's if it makes it that is....
The R18 Estate is v nice... no rotting arches, but it stinks of damp inside so there must be wet stuff getting in - as usual!!
It has an unusual feature (apart from the rare alloy wheels)...
If you select reverse it goes forwards
It's like the linkage is shagged and it's selecting 1st instead!
Mark.

Were it summer, I'd have said you'd definitely need some method of keeping the rad fan on, but given the time of year, I doubt it will be a problem to be honest. If you do get stuck in traffic, the heater should be able to keep the engine from getting too hot.
If you do use a paperclip to bridge the terminals (which works a treat), make sure you have some insulation tape with you too.
