I think it's a very optimistic starting price. I can understand about wanting to cover some of the cost of the last MOT but we all know you'll never see anything like you put into a BX (or indeed most 'old' cars). Also that's a really unsighly dent in that wing. And the wheels might be nice but sorry, they look 'wrong' (I could be wrong, I guess, but aren't they Peugeot ones?).

£350-400 I guess - tops. I wouldn't consider more than £350 myself as I'd just have to replace that wing...

I know the guy well...He sold a TZD Estate with leather and alloys for a purported £1000 about 8 months ago.

He's a dabbler and probably thinks he can get lucky again, having said that i've bought 4 cars off the guy myself the last a Xantia 1.9TD back in July.

I don't know where he got £850 from, mind you a guy whose just left his BX GTi with us with autobox trouble paid £575 for the car and is paying us £600 to fit a new autobox and cambelt. Some people will pay these prices it seems.....

Using those gorgeous ZX Wheeltrims (the ones that look as if they are going inwards) is just as nice. I used to put Xantia 14 inch ones on too..

With bx wings being fairly flimsy it wouldnt take much to push that out and I imagine dent master could make a huge improvement.

I think he will strugglle to beat £500

I was going to go for that but `5 fantastic good tyres` put me off. For that kind of money I`d want 5 fantastic wonderfully beautiful tyres.
How the effing hell spending £725 on a car that`s only worth £350 and then saying that`s why it`s starting at £500 is beyond me.
If he went out and bought a 1991 Fraud Orion 1.4 with no MOT and spent £1000 getting it resprayed would it be worth £850? Would it bollocks as like. This car is no exception and I`m afraid it`s not worth anything like the money he wants for it (£800? ) even if it only has got a `small` dent in the wing.

Spend hundreds on a car like this and run it for two years as a daily driver and it's understandable: It's still cheap motoring. But, as Billy suggests, to then put it up for sale.. it doesn't really make sense... :?

He might just might get away with that sort of price in the autotrader where people flick through the bargain section in a panic when their cars cambelt is gone and they need a car desperately, but if he's going to get that sort of money on ebay he should have got the wing sorted and taxed the thing.

each to their own I suppose...

I'd say a mint 80k mile 1.9D BX is worth £850 to be honest.

That......isn't mint. Its average.

Another fool who thinks because he's paid out in service items, his car is worth more.

No, this pillock has inflated the cost dramatically. £50 for a set of glowplugs? £130 for a rear arm bearing?
No, sonny, much too much.

And then £120 for a set of tyres.
So they won't be good, will they?

Leave it alone. Vendors often give away what the car is really like in the ad. Dodgy people, Dodgy car, as my mate DLM denies saying. This chancer shouldn't be encouraged.
