Wanted, new BX heater matrix
Before I get one in the shops, does anyone have one of these they want to sell?
I don't want an old one as I will probably have to rebuild the entire car around it, and I don't want to do that twice.

I did it wothout dash removal about 9 years ago..a complete beeyatch IMHO. In trying to get the think out or back in, there was a real risk in damaging/breaking the joint and pipework that the matrix fits to. I also seem to remember thinking that by putting this matrix back in it's gonna break/weaken something and I'll be back to square 1. You're also in a back breaking position.....I don't envy you mate!! Could well be worth taking the dash out?? I seem also to remember you'll need a couple of o rings that may or may not come with the replacement kit...good luck!!

Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!
Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Pretty much as Tom said really!
I did my last one with dash fitted in under an hour, and anyone that knows me knows I work slowley!
I came across a couple that wouldn't clear the coloumn bracket even with the coloumn removed so I removed the blower motor and undid the four 10mm bolts holding the heater box to the car, removed the O/S bolts completely and loosened the N/S.
This allowed the box to drop just the few MM's required to clear the coloumn.
On others I've done they just slid straight out. Strange on a mass produced car.....
Cheers
