Well, I've bought myself a TZD!

Post by capri »

Yes, those of you who'll remember the demise of my old white TZD Turbo in the South of France will be glad to know that I've just put a deposit down on its spiritual successor!

You'll also be glad to know that it is a club car I'm buying. As I hinted earlier in the week, it's Gareth_Wales's lovely 1992 example in Gris Dolmen. With 109k on the clock, an MOT till August, near-immaculate bodywork, smashing paintwork, a fantastic history and all sorts of spare parts, it's one of the best of the breed. I went to visit Gareth at his home today for a test drive, and left impressed - it's certainly a lovely car! I'll be collecting it in a few weeks once Gareth has sorted himself out a new car, and I have to say, I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on it!

My thanks to Gareth and Brenda for their warm hospitality - it was possibly the most pleasant car buying experience I've had yet! :D

I'll put some pics of the beast up when I've collected her. Now then, does anyone want a Saab?

16v....you're missing out son

Nah, well done. All good work. Any BX is better than no BX, and thats a great colour.

I truly hope you stay around too Gareth.
Oh, nice work Capri-I`ve seen Gareth`s car and it`s a cracker. Maybe we should form a `just bought a TZD` club?

Tom, it`s being readied as I type. I have fed him on his favourite delicacy(sp?) of a TGD interior marinated in the finest LHM and vegetable oil, sauted lightly with a frisson of toasted height corrector soup.
However he has another TZD to attend to first

Cheers guys! I'll definitely try and make it to one show or other this year - this car deserves to be shown off, especially after all Gareth's hard work! I don't think Gareth will be leaving the club - he expressed to me a desire to stick around today! Also will get some pics up of the TZD as soon as she's in my possession! :D

That car is a very well cared for motor, both Vanny and myself have done work on it and our friend Gareth has been a worthy custodian, Capri, enjoy the car

I think it has the super rare TX series wheeltrims too from memory and the painwork was very clean, aside the usual parking dents, which if your interested dents away can do a good job on (they did on all of my bxs) as the metals quite thin and plyable.

Odd request, but Tim, do you fancy putting together a directory of BX wheel trims? as you clearly are the club expert on such matters! 8)
