N/S headlight

Post by Philip Chidlow »

Hi, I'm trying to adjust my headlamps and one of the lights adjustment screw attachment point is cracked, the screw is rusted firmly in place, so what I need is a replacement light, screw(s) and the plastic bit(s) that fit into the panel behind the light. Can anyone help?

PS if anyone has a pair of new I'd consider that...

I have a pair of perfectly good headlamps (ones nearly new) with protectors for the Headlamps only, £20 the pair including protectors and postage and packaging?

It`s the retaining screws that he wants Tim, as indeed I need too.

Hi Tim

Might still be interested, but Billy's right - it is the n/s light with its fittings I need... for now.

BTW Are those protectors the ones that stuck on with little adhesive pads or the ones that wrap around the indicators or something else?

headlight adjustment

Post by polaris37 »

Could anybody tell me how to adjust the headlights? Is it the screw or the nut that I need to turn. The left head light is too low and I need to to sort it for the mot.

It is a good idea to remove the lamp then free off the adjusters and grease the threads before you start, I then drive up to my garage door which has covenient horizontal lines on it, these show up any differencs in beam height.

Philip,
I don't have the actual 'ball' headed bolts, but I do have a set of the sockets that fit into the headlamp and indeed a n/s headlamp all of which you can have ..BUT...the reflective part inside the lamp has badly faded and has been noted as an advisory in past MOT. I'm just keeping it incase one of mine gets smashed but I'd rather you had it if you need it?

Alternatively, Bernie did have a few knocking around so a few beer tokens his way and you could be ok? He may even have the ball headed bolts...

thanks for the offer, Bandito... I'm off to my local Citroen breakers and he'll sort me out. If he gets greedy though (although he's usually really fair), I'll be in touch...

Ta again.
