Name that part.

Post by ken newbold »

Something I saw at last years Scottish Rally was a table full of Citroen parts, a prize was awarded to the person who could identify all or most of the parts.

Just for fun, I'll start off with this one.

Needless to say BX parts.

Kick down cable for an automatic?

We played this game at the CCC SE section meet once. I didn't do so well - misidentified some H-van bits as being from a GS

Fun though.

There's plenty of very obscure BX parts floating around on eBay; a seller called stjamesoldboys. trim clips, wotsit clips and more clips, thingies, doodahs, all kinds of fiddly bits. He must have cleaned out a dealer who closed down or offloaded "obsolete" NOS. I thought, blimey, gold dust to those in need... last week a pack of boot panel plastic securing nuts went for over 8 squid!

Case in point: BX Estate roof moulding strips, complete set. Well I ne'er...

At least he's telling us what all these doodah bits are actually called, plus he gives part numbers. It's proper bo, I tell thee.

Mark.

I think I have some candidates for name-that-part. Watch this space. By the way, some of the more obscure parts can be very useful, though I too would question the desirability of a set of estate roof strakes....
Back on two wheels and pedal power for the moment.

maybe we could collect all the parts and make a brand new BX??

I can confirm the desireability of having roof rubber strakes on my BX TD Estate. Without them it would not grow moss, and those travelling on busses would not be able to tell the difference between an ordinary estate and a DTR Turbo estate.

In short I thing they are one of mankinds less useful inventions!
