Yes it is a MK2...

I guess the petrol and diesel speedo heads may be similar.

I have that super early Mk2 petrol head (goes up in 20mph increments)which has a clock so would suit a 17RD

I've got a Mk 1 Peugeot 309 1.3 Jaeger unit that you could have... it looks very similar, anyone know if they're the same?

Thank's to all that have replied.

I want to make sure that the replacement speedo head will work, as I have already purchased a complete Veglia panel that is not compatable as it stands, but may be if I can sort out the plugery.

So, the code on the face of the Jaeger speedo, just below the trip reset button is:
7/19/E1_22m6J

The petrol one may be ok, the face marking 20/40/60 etc, is fine, but would the gearing be correct?...

I have just been to the back of my garage, I feel like indiana Jones, :) the unit is a diesel Veglia unit, sorry, I did run a GTI dash pod in a car with a TD engine/gearbox once and it seemed accurate enough, sorry about it being the wrong part.

Someone, somewhere on this forum may have a complete Jaeger unit out of a GTi which I bought in error from the the Cit specialist just above the Severn Bridge. Tom thought he had a use for it, then passed it on to someone else... but who exactly I don't know.
Back on two wheels and pedal power for the moment.
